Hello, church family!

First of all, I wanted to thank everyone who took care of things at the church this past week while the Dickerson’s had a much-needed vacation.  In particular, I wanted to thank Minton for taking the service for me yesterday!

For those of you who missed it, you can watch/listen to Minton’s message entitled “Being Found Diligent” as it’s posted on our HPC Facebook page Tuesday night at 7 PM and on our website later in the week.

As we’ve been announcing over the past few weeks, I did want to remind everyone that this coming Sunday, we are having another fellowship luncheon following the Sunday morning service.  As always, these potlucks are where the church provides the meat (fried chicken again this time) and the drinks, but we ask everyone else to bring a side, salad, or dessert.  So if you haven’t let us know what you are bringing through the sign-up sheet in the foyer, please just respond to this email or call the church to give us a heads up!

These fellowship luncheons are always fun, church!  So please plan to attend and make it point to sit with someone you don’t know as well.  This builds community and “koinonia” in the church body.

Also, this Sunday, I plan to start a new teaching series on the 23rd Psalm!  I can assure you, saints – you’ve never heard Psalm 23 like this before!  Most make this Psalm about what we have to look forward to when we die, but this is a “life psalm,” church!  In other words, it teaches us about the good life God has in store for us here in the land of the living!

So come with bells on this Sunday, ready to both learn about what our Good Shepherd died to provide for us and also to enjoy a good meal together with your church family!

Here’s what else we have on tap for this week:

1.  The Pastor’s Study live video will be held Wednesday night @ 5:30 where we will pick back up our look at the gifts of the Spirit by looking at the “working of miracles.”   So join me on our Pastor’s Study Facebook group then!

2.  Our Wednesday Evening Prayer / Bible Study group meets @ 7 PM every Wednesday, and our study through First Peter has been amazing!  Wednesdays are always a great time of fellowship, prayer, and encouragement from God’s Word!  Come join us!

3.  Healing School meets every Thursday morning @ 10:30 AM in the House of Expectation.  We are currently looking through the various healing accounts in the Gospels in order to learn how to receive healing ourselves and also share it with others.  Then we end our sessions praying for those who need healing!  Come be a part!  Also, we will be breaking bread together this week following our session.

4.  Finally, this coming Saturday (August 8th) is our monthly Women’s Breakfast.  All you ladies are welcome to join Shannon and the others at the IHOP on Tom Hill Blvd Saturday @ 9 AM.  This month, Michelle Collins will be sharing.

P.S. I have attached the High Points notes for final part in our “The One Thing” series from two weeks ago in both Word & a PDF.

See y’all this week!
