Greetings, church! 

What a beautiful weekend we had at High Point as we hosted a beautiful wedding for David & Kelsey on Friday & Saturday and then it carried over to us having a wonderful service on Sunday. A big congratz to the Luther’s on their holy matrimony!

As for Sunday’s service, the praise & worship was splendid, and the Word was on point!  And we ended the service with an altar full of folks returning to their first love, coming back to “Bethel.”  It was a blessing to see!

For the past couple weeks, I’ve been talking about a couple of God’s closest friends, Moses & Abraham.  We have been learning how we too can enter into God’s inner circle of friendship like these men did.  As always, you can also watch & listen to it as it is posted on Facebook tonight and will be put on our website later in the week.

I did want to let everyone know that the Dickerson’s will be out of town on vacation next week from August 10th – 16th.  So this week’s High Points email will serve as two weeks’ worth of a heads up. \

1.  This week, Pastor’s Study live video will be held tomorrow night (Wednesday) @ 5:30 where we are continuing our look at the gifts of the Spirit.  This week, we are beginning our look at the “power gifts” by talking about the gifts of healings.  So join me tomorrow on our Pastor’s Study Facebook group!  There will not be a live video next week.   

2.  Our Wednesday Evening Prayer / Bible Study group meets @ 7 PM every Wednesday, and our study through First Peter has been ultra enlightening!  Wednesdays are always a great time of fellowship and revelation!  Come join us!

3.  Healing School also meets every Thursday morning @ 10:30 AM in the House of Expectation.  Minton & myself are looking through the various healing accounts in the Gospels in order to learn how to receive healing ourselves and also share it with others.  We always end our sessions praying for those who need it as well!  Come be a part!

4.  This coming Saturday. August 8th, is our Men’s Breakfast.  We meet at the IHOP on Tom Hill Blvd and this month, Keith Lusk, will be sharing.  All of you guys are welcome to attend!

5.  Next week, on Thursday August 13th, is our Iron Forge young adult meeting.  It will be held at Patrick & Velvet Cramer’s home at 6:30 (8821 Lower Thomaston Rd).  Come join us for some food, a devotion, and some fun games!  Please give me a heads up if you plan to come.

6.  Our next Single’s Social Sunday will be after the service on Sunday, August 16th. All of you singles out there are welcome to join Arlene and the rest of this great group as they meet at the S&S Cafeteria on Eisenhower Blvd @ 12:45.

7.  Finally, this coming Sunday (the 9th), I plan to wrap up our series on “The One Thing” by looking at the power that God’s presence has on our lives.  Then next Sunday, August 16th, Elder Minton Williams will have the service in my absence.
